Cubbon Park

Bangalore is a city which is know for its parks. However, people tend to go back to MG road, Brigade, Commercial Street etc for hanging out. Bored of the same old places, my friends and I decided to go visit someplace different from the shopping areas. After a lot of browsing on net for the places to go to I finally suggested that we should go the Cubbon Park and the idea got immediate approval. Cubbon Park is a nice plain stretch with lots of trees and some rocks which gives it a look of a forest. It is a good place to go for picnic with friends or for an early morning walk. My friends and I walked around the park, climbed the rocks and enjoyed the nice greenery around us. Relatively clean and with lots of places to sit and talk, Cubbon Park has something to offer for everyone.

What made the day better was the aquarium near Cubbon Park which is the second largest aquarium in India. With fishes in all kinds of shapes and sizes and colour, the aquarium was a delight for all three of us and soon all of us had decided on our favourite fishes.

Next we went to Bal Bhavan which is inside the Cubbon Park where we enjoyed the cheap but fun rides, pop corns, chatting and screaming with people of all ages. And yes we did not forget to buy balloons.

In total the visit to Cubbon Park is one of the most exciting and fun trips in Bangalore. It is a nice place to relax, have fun and let your hair loose. You can have the simple, uncomplicated fun without spending much money.

The Cubbon Park was worth a second visit and this time I went with my two cousins (one four year old and the other around twelve).

The War Between Sexes

I have personally always maintained that the world has been structured on irony - two conflicting things with a pinch of humour thrown in. One of the most ironic truths i have accidentally (or was I eventually meant to) stumbled upon is that men and women are incompatible yet they are meant to be together. If you needed to create two sexes for reproduction and sexual enjoyment then why not make them more similar and more compatible. In the few relationships that I have observed the wars/battles/fights between the couple tend to be of similar pattern.

The girl does not understand why the guy cant be more careful, responisble and thoughful. Lets go through a trypical fight scenario -

A Saturday night.
Guy: Can we meet tomorrow some time? I have to go catch the football game at my friend's place.
Girl: But we were supposed to go for movies tonight.
Guy: Oh, I was meaning to tell you about this change of plans but it completely slipped my mind.
Girl: How could you? You promised a week back.
Guy: Its ok. We can go next Saturda.
Girl: I can't believe how you can be so indifferent. Doesn't our being together mean anything to you.
Guy: Why are you over-reacting. I don't know why you can not understand for once that I have to spend some time with my friends too.
Girl: I am not telling you not to spend time with my friends. Just tell me before hand.

Blah.. Blah.. Blah..

What the girl sees as indiffernece and carelessness on guy's part is just a normal thing he overlooked. The guy he feels why does she over react. Why cant she be reasonable and understand me for once and why does she keep on pointing out my mistakes. Why is she so nitpicking. Cant she se ehow much I love her. Why do I have to keep on demonstrating that.

According to guys, the girls just complicate things and over analyze. The girls should just 'chill'.

So what happens when the girl starts chilling. Well the guy gets apprehensive and starts wondering whats worng with her and starts analyzing whether she cares for him or not. So here we see a reversal of roles.

The irony is that there can never be ideal compatibility between the two sexes. It is means to be an uncomfortable, rock journey. So let go of the seat belts and safety nets and take a plunge into the uncertainity and risk of love.
